Our task this week was to create three social media posts incorporating the three types of ways artists promote themselves.
Firstly they would use engagement (around 50%) then storytelling (around 30%) and finally promoting (around 20%) The engagement part usually consists of the artist being funny and showing their personality, for example through memes or jokes so that the fans can relate to the artist. Secondly storytelling usually consists of the artist showing a more personal and touching side of their story, such as who their inspiration is and whether they have dedicated any songs to anyone for a particular reason for example maybe a close friend has passed away. Thirdly, they have promotion. This is the smallest part of the artist's social media. It could consist of them promoting a product or a new song being released.
For the second post, I created a more personal one, using the caption, once again to go into more detail about the artist. I used a picture of someone in a recording studio to further show that this was an artist's social media page.
Finally, I did a 'promotion,' post. I promoted the artist's imaginary new song 'grass stains,' and used a picture which looked like it could be the cover of a single. I used the caption box to communicate when the song is released and what the name of the song is.
